Boonville-- The First Baptist Church of Boonville is hosting a webcast designed to inspire couples to grow closer and solidify family bonds.
The church, at 625 Main Street, will be showing "Date Night Challenge," a prerecorded webcast produced by Christian group Focus on the Family.
Research shows that going on dates with your significant other drastically improves your relationship. That's what inspired Focus on the Family to create the challenge, which coincides with National Marriage Week.
In what promises to be a "world class evening of fun, laughter and entertainment," according to Greg Smalley, executive director of marriage for Focus on the Family, the "Date Night Challenge" encourages couples to go on three dates in three weeks. This is part of a national "date night movement" where the goal is for 5 million dates to take place across the country during Feb.
The First Baptist Church's Minister of Family Life and Music Mark Martin hopes the event will help people "see the importance of dating and keeping the relationship of husband and wife active," he said.
"It's geared really toward married couples, but is for dating couples, too," said Martin, "so they can learn and see the importance of marriage."
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with snacks and fellowship. The webcast will begin at 6 p.m. and concludes around 8 p.m. Childcare will be provided, and reservations, while not required but appreciated, may be made at 660-882-6404 or by emailing Martin at firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is no cost for the evening, but donations will be accepted.
